Profile
Giunti Editore, historic Florentine publishing company and heir to a long editorial tradition that dates back to 1841 with the foundation of the Paggi print house and bookstore, is the parent company of the second largest Italian publishing group.

It operates in the book publishing sector, both print and digital, and encompasses, thanks to its subsidiaries, the entire chain of production, from editing to printing to sales, with over 150 exclusive agents and licensees and an important presence in the retail channel (Giunti al Punto, the first Italian bookstore chain with over 215 points of sale).
Thanks to the intense acquisitions policy in recent years, it boasts an extensive portfolio of proprietary and subsidiary trademarks.

Giunti Editore has a wide-ranging catalogue with more than 14,500 active titles and more than 1,000 new releases per year, covering every area of the book sector:
Fiction and Non-Fiction

With the Giunti and Bompiani trademarks, the Group has a rich and varied catalogue of Italian and foreign fiction with both bestselling authors and debut writers looking to make their name on the national and international market, non-fiction titles sensitive to the themes and changes of our time, and miscellaneous volumes that meet the demands of the market with topics inspired by current affairs and lifestyle.

Popular Education and Handbooks

A rich catalogue of illustrated volumes ranges from the cuisine of world-class chefs and cookbooks to books on art and music, presented through the themes and protagonists of both yesterday and today. The trademarks most involved in the production of handbooks are Demetra (leisure, gardening, fitness, DIY for men and women, lifestyle) and De Vecchi (self-help manuals, titles dedicated to animals, sports, the esoteric and nature). Completing the offering are the subsidiary Slow Food Editore (which Giunti also distributes) – with books conceived to promote quality food and wine production, safeguard artisanal specialties, encourage virtuous agriculture, and protect environmental biodiversity and sustainability – and Giorgio Nada Editore, with the books about the history of the automobile, motorcycle, and motorized means of transport more generally.

Books for Early Childhood and Kids

In this sector the Group is a leader in terms of number of copies sold. It offers books dedicated to children of all age groups, with activity books, workbooks for drawing and coloring, pop-up books characterized by a scrupulous attention to detail, and Italian and foreign fiction for kids. The Group operates with several trademarks in this sector, each connoted by specific characteristics: Dami, with a catalogue dedicated to children from 0-8, Edizioni del Borgo (which also publishes books for preschool and elementary school), and Editoriale Scienza, a Trieste-based publishing house specializing in popular scientific education for children and young adults with introductory science texts, game-books, and practical experiment manuals. The Group’s catalogue is completed by the entire production of Disney Italia.

Giunti also publishes the “National Edition of the Manuscripts and Drawings of Leonardo da Vinci,” a prestigious work that collects the facsimiles of all of Leonardo’s codices. The Group is also present in the museum services sector, principally in the state museums in and around Florence, where it offers ticketing and bookshop management services within the structures themselves.
